Women’s Soccer Earn First Conference Win Over Andrew College

MACON, Ga. – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) earned its first conference win in a dominant 6-0 victory over Andrew College on Sunday evening, improving its record to 4-5 (2-4). The game featured several firsts for the program.

The scoring began in the 37th minute when forward Laura Bautista netted her first career penalty. Midfielder Ashley Roblero added to the lead in the 44th minute with her first of two goals this season. Assisted by Brithani Montalvo, Roblero faked a defender before launching a 30-yard strike that hit the post and dropped in for the goal. Roblero later converted a penalty in the second half.

Forward Rosacecilia Lopez, recently named GCAA Player of the Week for Week 2, secured the program's first-ever hat trick with goals in the 71st, 84th, and 87th minutes, assisted by Lucia Reyes on the first two goals and Cadence Reeves on the last.

"The chemistry on the field was evident, and it was amazing to see our hard work pay off," said Reeves, praising the team's collaborative effort.

"Our ladies are making history every time we step on the field. Seeing all these accomplishments of our student-athletes brings tremendous joy to our program because I have seen firsthand their hard work, dedication, and countless hours of training they put in each week." said head coach Kiké Fuentes.

The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association awarded CGTC a win over Gordon State College due to a roster error by Gordon State during their August matchup, giving the Titans two conference victories.

The Titans are currently fourth in the overall table and will travel to Tennessee on Wednesday to face Motlow State Community College in a non-conference matchup.
