Macon, GA – In their third matchup against East Georgia State College (10-4, 7-3) this week, the CGTC Lady Titans (1-9, 1-8) suffered a 62-48 loss Saturday afternoon.
As their offensive woes continued, the Lady Titans were held to just six points off 3-of-12 (25%) shooting in the first quarter.
Facing a double-digit deficit in the second quarter, the Lady Titans ramped up their offensive pace and went on a 15-8 run to cut East Georgia State's lead to 28-24 right before halftime.
Unable to carry over their second quarter momentum after halftime, the Lady Titans scored only five points in the third quarter.
While the Lady Titans had a major uptick in scoring in the fourth frame, their early-game deficit was insurmountable.
CGTC finished the game shooting 17-of-54 (31.5) from the field and 0-of-9 from 3-point range. The Lady Titans went 14-of-20 (70%) from the charity stripe.
Sophomores Juanisha Black and Hayleigh Ross led the Lady Titans in scoring. Recording her first career double-double, Black scored 14 points with 14 rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Ross also finished with double-figures, scoring 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, six steals, and one block.
The Lady Titans will face Georgia Highlands College next on Tuesday, March 16 in Rome, Georgia at 4:00 p.m.
