CGTC Women’s Basketball Readies for 2016-17 Season

Central Georgia Technical College's (CGTC) head women's basketball coach, Antonio Harris, has announced the Lady Titans 2016-17 schedule. The team's season will include 12 home games and 14 Georgia College Athletic Association (GCAA) conference match-ups.

The Lady Titans will open their season at home on November 8 against IMG Academy in Macon. Following two road games at Chattahoochee Valley Community College (11/9) and Cleveland State Community College (11/15), the team will round out the month of November with play in the Albany Tech Classic (11/18-19), Pensacola State Thanksgiving Classic (11/21-22), and the South Georgia Tech Classic (12/9-10), before heading back home on November 30 for the second game of a home-and-home series against Chattahoochee Valley CC.

The team will start December with competitions against Division III Southern Crescent Technical College (12/2) at home and West Georgia Technical College (12/3) on the road, before traveling to Marianna, FL to face Snead State College (12/9) and junior college women's basketball perennial powerhouse Chipola College (12/10) in the Women's Basketball Classic.
The Lady Titans will close out December with their first conference game of the season at home against Andrew College (12/13) and a home non-conference game versus Broward College (12/31).

Of the 14 remaining regular season games for the Lady Titans in January and February, 13 of them will come against conference opponents. Notable games of the final two months include two games (1/25 and 2/10) versus the 2015-16 conference champions, Georgia Highlands College, and two games (1/7 and 2/4) against the conference runner-up, South Georgia Tech.

The Lady Titans will finish the regular season at home when they host Atlanta Metropolitan State on February 22.
The women's basketball team finished the 2015-16 season with an 18-12 overall record and a 9-7 record in the conference. Losing the entire starting line-up from the 2015-16 season, the team will see a host of new faces along with sole returning sophomore, Lyric Jordan.
