Titans Cross Country Has Strong Run in GMC Brickyard Invitational

Macon, Ga. – In their second meet of the 2021 season, the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) men's cross country team showed glimpses of their phenomenal championship season from a year ago.

In a field of teams from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), such as Columbus State University, University of West Georgia, Brewton-Parker College, Truett-McConnell University, and Fort Valley State University, the CGTC Titans earned a third place finish in the 8k race with an average time of 28:31.98.

Returning for the Titans this season, Luis Alvarado finished in fourth place overall with a time of 27:26.90, beating his personal best of 28:08.47 from a year ago.

Rounding out the top-25 runners were Zak Brown (28:19.95) in 17th place, Joshua Flores (28:21.87) in 18th place, and Tretavious Jones (28:37.58) in 22nd place. Brown, Flores, and Jones all ran personal bests in the event.

The Titans will be back on the course Friday, September 17, as they travel to Tallahassee, Florida to compete in the Florida State University XC Open.
