Warner Robins, Ga. - Titans Men's soccer looks to build on program wins and form unity as they gear up for their first match against Southern Union Community College on Sunday at 7 p.m. on Atrium Health Field on the College's Warner Robins campus.

"I want to bring my team together as a captain," said sophomore midfielder, Joel Callins, "We need to stay healthy, stay fit, and be together as a team and community."

Unity, fitness, and health will be key strategies for the Titans moving forward.

In its inaugural season, the Titans earned a 2-9-1 (0-4 GCAA) overall, fighting through injury, depth issues, and the wear and tear of a first season. Depth has improved along with key returning players on both sides of the field.

Under new head coach, Elvar Gudjonsson, the team looks to improve, trust each other and rely on its captains for leadership.

"We want to win games, but this season is more about coming together as a team, making sure our guys graduate and get where they want to be if they transfer," Gudjonsson said. "Our captains need to be an extension of the head coach, pushing each other on the field but also making sure the guys are doing what they need to be doing in class, before and during practice."

The Titans open the season at home Sunday, August 24, and then hit the road against Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida and Enterprise State Community College in Alabama on August 26 (4PM) and 28 (8 PM), respectively.
