Reco Dawson was named Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) head men’s basketball coach on May 16, 2012. As the leader of the Titans men’s basketball program, he has over 20 years of coaching experience, including nine as a collegiate head coach.

As a winning collegiate head coach, Dawson was named District 13 Coach of the Year for three consecutive years (2018, 2019, 2020), as well as Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Region 17 Coach of the Year (2020).

During the 2020-21 season, Dawson led the Titans to the GCAA Conference Final Four. The Titans won the program’s first GCAA championship title in 2018, followed by consecutive conference titles in 2019 and 2020.

The Titans earning their first playoff victory in 2014. The team finished in second place during the GCAA Conference Championship game during the 2013-14 season, earning a zone qualifying bid to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament.

During his first season in 2012-13, Dawson led the Titans to the program’s first GCAA playoff appearance.

Prior to coaching for CGTC, Dawson served as assistant men’s basketball coach and recruiter for Georgia Southwestern State University, where he was instrumental in leading the team to an appearance in the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament.

Throughout his career, Dawson has coached student-athletes who have received many honors, including many who have played professionally.

Dawson earned his Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University.

Dawson is married to Jennifer Dawson and the couple has two sons, Brandon and Jalen. As a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Dawson takes pride in serving the community.
