Craig Lawson was named the Head Cross Country Coach in March of 2019. Coach Lawson is in his sixth year with CGTC Athletics. He served as the assistant women's basketball coach during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, and began working in game day operations as the Head Statistician for men's and women's basketball in 2015. He was named the Head of Game Day Operations in 2016.
In addition to his coaching and game day management roles, Lawson was named Head of Strength and Conditioning with CGTC Athletics in 2017. During his time at Shorter University, Lawson spent three semesters as a collegiate athlete training under the 1980 national collegiate power lifting champion. He also spent two semesters as a letterman at the University of Georgia in 2008-09, training under the strength and conditioning staff for Olympic sports.
Lawson was a two-year varsity football letterman at Shorter University during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Sport Management from the University of Georgia in 2009, and in 2010 he earned his Master of Science from UGA in the same field.
Coach Lawson currently resides in Macon, GA.
