Craig Lawson is in his fifth year with CGTC Athletics. He was the assistant women's basketball coach during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, and began working in game day operations as the Head Statistician for men's and women's basketball in 2015. Lawson also began assisting with player development during the 2015-16 season, and he is currently in charge of all game day staffing responsibilities.
In addition to his game day management role, Coach Lawson assumed the responsibilities as Head of Strength and Conditioning with CGTC Athletics for the 2017-18 season.
Lawson was a two-year varsity football letterman at Shorter University during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Sport Management from the University of Georgia in 2009, and in 2010 went on to earn his master's degree in the same major.
During his time at Shorter University, Lawson spent three semesters as a collegiate athlete training under the 1980 national collegiate power lifting champion Scott Byrd. He also spent two semesters as a letterman at the University of Georgia in 2008-09 training under the strength and conditioning staff for Olympic sports.
Coach Lawson currently resides in Macon, GA.
