Cross Country Announces 2016 Season Schedule

Macon, GA – The Central Georgia Technical College Athletics Department announced the Titans men's and women's 2016 schedule on Thursday. The teams will compete in three regular season meets, the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) conference championships, and aim to reach National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) championships at the end of the season.

CGTC cross country will open the 2016 season on September 10 in Georgia College & State University's Bobcat Invitational in Milledgeville. After a two-week layoff the Titans will compete in the Mercer University Invitational on September 23 in Macon.

Both teams will close out the regular season at home in the CGTC Invitational on October 7. Central Georgia Tech will host the third consecutive GCAA Cross Country Championships on October 21 in Macon.

The NCAA Championships are scheduled to take place in El Dorado, KS on November 12.

The men's and women's teams enter the 2016 season coming off of strong performances in the 2015 GCAA Championships. With a top finish in the championship meet, former women's runner, Shambria Smith, was named the 2015 GCAA Division I Region XVII Most Valuable Runner. On the men's side, the Titans earned a second place finish in the conference championship.
