Tyrone Young and Anthony Johnson Sign NLI to 4-Year Universities

Macon, Ga. – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) men's basketball program is proud to announce that Tyrone Young and Anthony Johnson have both signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to continue their academic and athletic endeavors at four-year universities.

The sophomore duo from Ed White High School in Jacksonville (FL) made their commitments official on Monday, April 24.
Young, a 6'4" guard, has signed with Middle Georgia State University in Cochran. During his sophomore season with the Titans, Young played in 31 games and averaged 7.3 points , 4.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists, while shooting 50.9% from the field. He was selected as the CGTC Athletics Student-Athlete of the Year for the 2016-2017 sports season.

Johnson, a 6'6" forward, signed a NLI with Columbus State University. In his final season at CGTC, Johnson averaged 10.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 31 games played. He shot 64.6% from the free-throw line and 55.8% from the field.

"I'm so proud of Tyrone and Anthony," said CGTC head men's basketball coach Reco Dawson. "They came in together as freshmen and have worked hard for our team. They have both earned their opportunity to play and study at a four-year institution."
